Summer Up!

  • Do you remember that feeling on the last day of school before summer vacation? This book is set in 1975 about a group of friends who defend their neighborhood in a turf war. There is a great message in this story and I enjoyed the nostalgia. What were some of your favorite summer things to do as a kid?

  • This sweet coming of age story gives you all the feels of being a kid in a small town in the 70’s. The story was sweet and the characters were well developed. It was an enjoyable story for all ages.

  • 𝙎𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙧 𝙐𝙥! by Tom Leihbacher is the continuation of the story from his prior book 𝘼 𝙂𝙞𝙛𝙩 𝙈𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙍𝙖𝙧𝙚, as is a great one set in the 70’s!

  • Summer Up! is a God-honoring fun-ride set in Smalltown, USA, during the summer of 1975. It’s a wonderful sequel to A Gift Most Rare and comes with a timely message and a wholesome spiritual uplift.

  • Tom Leihbacher has done it again. Picking up where A Gift Most Rare left off, he wove a fun, coming of age summer tale that mixes The Wonderful World of Disney with a dose of Home Alone and a dash of Field of Dreams.

  • I didn’t think Tom could best himself with this tale of lively young buys during a sun kissed summer, but he did!

A Gift Most Rare

It’s Christmastime in the handsome, pocket-sized village of Briarcliff Manor.  Multicolored lights cast a merry glow, the scent of fresh evergreens infuse the air, Christmas carols are heard on each street corner and stores are bursting with jolly, gift-buying shoppers.

With the yuletide spirit in full swing, life in this Rockwellian setting seems picture-perfect.  But not everyone feels the holiday cheer.  Nor do the seasonal sights, sounds and pastimes make much of a difference for them.

While most go about their joyful holiday pursuits, young Charlie Riverton is restless.  His good-natured, twelve-year-old heart is especially concerned for the lonely and forlorn.

At the same time, he’s a red-blooded American boy and unofficial leader of a particularly close-knit group of sixth-grade buddies.  Each day, they ramble through the full range of pre-teen hijinks, including how to navigate their new and nerve-wracking interest in girls.

Meanwhile, there’s an unusual and curiously gifted newcomer in town, recently arrived on the tailwinds of a surprise Thanksgiving Eve snowstorm.  Charlie felt a special affinity with the handsome stranger from the moment they met.

Together, they set out to craft a God-honoring Christmas gift for the whole community.  Along the way, lives are changed and people begin to look at Christmas a little differently.

Come spend this Christmas with a most memorable ensemble cast of characters in this feel-good, coming of age story and period piece set in small-town America during the early 1970s.

“Congratulations to Tom for writing a heartwarming Christmas story that evokes the traditional Christmas spirit. A Gift Most Rare focuses on a God-honoring relationship between a young boy, a guardian angel and a whole village that rediscovers how best to celebrate Christmas.”
