United We Stand

It’s very enjoyable to receive comments and questions from people who have read A Gift Most Rare (…which can easily be done through the contact page.)

One reader from Connecticut recently asked who Skylar Northbridge would vote for in the upcoming presidential election?  Such an interesting question to ponder!

…like any of us, Sky of course would base his decision on the positions each candidate takes vs. the major issues we’re all facing together – special emphasis on “together.”

For starters, I think he’d be saddened, disappointed and deeply troubled by the amount of discord and conflict in today’s American society.

He’d also be fed up with dysfunctional government.  Sky’s a hand’s-on fixer – and the whole thing with congressional gridlock would be hard for him to take.

I believe Sky’s heart would be hurting because of racial tension – and completely flummoxed as to why anyone in any way would look at someone else as better or worse because of the color of their skin (or for that matter, their nationality, religious views, socio-economic status, etc.)

Knowing Sky, he’d also advocate for environmental issues.  After all, God gave us stewardship of His creation – and expects us to honor that responsibility wisely.

Where Sky comes from, he’s also used to great leadership.  So he’d no doubt be looking for a person of unimpeachable character and integrity.

World traveler that he is, he’d also want someone who can deal swiftly with the damaged state of our international relations through earnest diplomacy, compassion and understanding.

So who would Sky vote for?  Since he’s not a registered member of any political party, I think he’d quietly cast his ballot for whoever he felt could best unify our country and put the common wellbeing of Americans above ideology.
